Thank you for awarding me a scholarship to attend Pinewoods Scottish Session II. It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
I had heard about Pinewoods many times from other dancers that had attended previous years but it never seemed to fit into my busy schedule. After being told many times that I really needed to go and hearing all the great stories of their time at Pinewoods, I decided that I needed to find out what I was missing.
Pinewoods was more than I could have imagined. From wonderful music and dancing, to relaxing by Long Pond, to staying up late to make new friends; it was everything I thought it could be and more. Everyone was so welcoming and had such joy that it made me want to never stop dancing.
It was so relaxing being away from the stresses of everyday life and to just slow down and enjoy the people and the overall place of Pinewoods, which I can hardly put into words. Pinewoods isn’t just a place: it is a feeling. A feeling of happiness and belonging.
I want to thank you so much for giving me this scholarship and I know I will be back to Pinewoods again!
