In 2006, PCI embarked on a youth scholarship program devised by the New Generation
Initiative (NGI) committee. Last season, all four User Groups made use of the PCI fee
waivers by matching them with their own. 27 scholarships were awarded. Click on a

"I am one of the few teenagers of my generation to witness and be a part
of the annual tradition of Pinewoods, and I am immensely grateful for this fact."
|
Eric McDonald

"The place—an old Girl Scout camp transformed into a haven for dancers. The idea— bring
together a community of people and let them play for an entire weekend,
learning new dances and meeting new friends..."
|
Natty Smith
"Aside from allowing me to attend a weekend I couldn't otherwise afford,
this scholarship also allowed me the great honor of making and building
upon connections and friendships with already prominent musicians."

"Just going to Pinewoods, meeting campers and crew, learning Pinewoods
traditions, and falling into a Pinewoods way of life was incredible."
|
Leah Sakala
"Pinewoods hosted me well: the food was fabulous
(I especially appreciated the ever-present vegetarian option), the accommodations were
very comfortable, and I enjoyed swimming in one of the two lakes just about every day."

Sam Zegas
"... Pinewoods and FAC are supporting the young generation. With their help
we can hopefully keep the path created by Conny Taylor and others well
trodden so that future generations will always have a place to dance."
